Free Coronavirus Awareness Training (non accredited)

Why do you need to do training?
As the government begins to lift restrictions it is a requirement with OHS legislation that businesses train their staff in how to protect themselves and also stop the spread of Covid19.
There is a specific requirement under WHS Legislation that requires your team to be trained and informed regarding COVID-19. https://swa.govcms.gov.au/covid-19-information-workplaces/industry-information/retail/duties-under-whs-laws?tab=tab-toc-employer
Specifically; Duty to provide information, training, instruction and supervisionYou must provide your workers with any information or training that is necessary to protect them from the risk of exposure to COVID-19 arising from their work.
Information and training may include:
EHO’s may also ask for evidence that team members have been trained, EHO’s will use the reference from the Food Standards Code to enforce, Food Standards Code 3.2.2, Division 2 General requirements, Clause 3 Food handling – skills and knowledge
i.e. A food business must ensure that persons undertaking or supervising food handling operations have –
(a) skills in food safety and food hygiene matters; and
(b) knowledge of food safety and food hygiene matters,
commensurate with their work activities.

- Providing guidance on how to properly wash hands
- Training workers in how to fit and use any necessary personal protective equipment
- Training workers to exercise adequate cleaning practices throughout the day
- Providing workers with instructions on how to set up a safe home workplace, and
- Providing workers with instructions on staying home from work if sick.
EHO’s may also ask for evidence that team members have been trained, EHO’s will use the reference from the Food Standards Code to enforce, Food Standards Code 3.2.2, Division 2 General requirements, Clause 3 Food handling – skills and knowledge

Course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete
How you will be assessed
You will complete an assessment quiz at the end of each section of the course.
Qualification
On successful completion of this unit you will receive a certificate of completion. This document does not constitute a certificate of accreditation or a statement of attainment.
Roles and quality assurance
eLearning Portal Pty Ltd (ELP) is responsible for the quality of the training and assessment that you will receive. Online Food Safety is responsible for delivering the training and assessment via the online eLearning Portal in accordance with ELP requirements. Based on you achieving these requirements ELP is responsible for issuing you with a certificate of completion.
